About Iman
I have recently completed my Graduate degree at Northwestern University where I studied literature with a concentration in Comparative and World Literature. My graduate thesis focused on the influence of French colonization on North African literary movements in the twentieth century and received the Distinguished Thesis Award for the MA Lit Program 2023-2024. Prior to Graduate school, I attended Fordham University where I majored in English and grew a love for critical analysis and editorial work. Outside of my education, I have ample experience working in the non-profit world. After graduating from Fordham, I was a high school program manager for Junior Achievement Chicago. I gained invaluable experience interacting with administrators, expanding our program outreach, cultivating curriculum, and facilitating programs. Before Junior Achievement, I interned at Behind the Book and Reach the World where I aided in facilitating programs in the New York City Public school system. I have ample experience working with students of all ages (K-12) and am passionate about education and development.

I believe writing, reading, and grammar review should be a collaborative process. I love working with students, showing how certain sentence structures and ideological approaches make for a clearer, cohesive piece of writing. Typically, I will ask students to present their paper (or homework depending) walking me through what they hope this paper will convey. Through having this open dialogue, it often allows students to see their work clearly. Additionally, for grammar and homework help, I take a similar approach, meeting the student where they are at.

Iman is truly the best tutor I have ever had! She was incredibly patient with me in working through difficult concepts, and she took time to help me understand my work in far more detail than anyone ever has. Most notably, she always asks me thought provoking questions that allow me to figure out my stuck points for myself rather than just telling me what to do. I cannot recommend her enough!
