About Maura
Hello! I am a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. I graduated in the top 1% of my class of with dual honors degrees in Economics and Supply Chain Management. I was a Teaching Assistant for the Pitt Economics Department for 2 years and worked as a tutor for Statistics and Economics. I also have 4 years of experience tutoring for NYS Regents Exams. Additionally, I volunteered at an elementary school in the city of Pittsburgh, so I have all necessary clearances to work with children and can provide them if necessary. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, pilates, trying new restaurants, reading and crafting. I am passionate about helping students develop a greater understanding of given material and witnessing their growth through the realization of capability and potential. I utilize my strengths to create a positive learning experience tailored to your needs!

I work with each learner to personalize our sessions so that we can make the most out of our time together. Lesson style will vary based on the needs of the individual student. I am happy to spend time reviewing materials together, going through examples or problem sets, or even creating study materials. I focus on success strategies to help students become more effective learner. These strategies may include concept mapping, diagramming, critical analysis and test taking tips. Our sessions will be shaped by what the student and I decide is the best course of action to achieve learning goals. I mostly work with high school and college students, but have experience working with younger students. I am happy to provide any additional details about my teaching methods that you deem necessary to determine if I am a good fit for you!
