About Helen
I’m a dedicated literacy specialist with over 19 years of experience supporting young people with cognition and learning difficulties. For the past 15 years, I’ve focused specifically on reading catch-up and integration programmes for secondary-aged students — because I’ve seen firsthand how quickly struggling readers can fall behind, and how deeply that affects their confidence and wider learning. I choose to do this work because I believe every young person deserves the chance to feel successful in their learning. Reading isn’t just a skill — it’s the gateway to independence, expression, and future opportunities. When a student starts to believe in their ability to read and learn, everything changes. I’ve seen students go from withdrawn and disengaged to confident, motivated, and ready to tackle new challenges. I’m here to meet learners, build a connection, and help them move forward — at their pace, in their way, with support that’s consistent, encouraging, and rooted in real progress.
