I am a qualified teacher with almost 18 years of teaching experience across primary and secondary education. I am a qualified teacher with QTS and almost 18 years of teaching experience, including 14 years teaching in UK schools. I have experience teaching children from Early Years and Key Stage 1 through to secondary level, as well as supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
My approach is friendly, patient and encouraging. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, understood and confident, so I adapt each lesson to suit the individual child. I use a mixture of clear explanations, questioning, modelling, practical activities and engaging resources to make learning enjoyable while still maintaining a clear focus on progress.
I particularly enjoy helping children who may have lost confidence or find certain areas of learning challenging. I break concepts down into manageable steps, celebrate small successes and gradually build independence and confidence.
Lessons are usually 45–60 minutes, although I am happy to adapt the length depending on the child’s age, needs and concentration levels.
I can support pupils with English, Maths, French and general primary subjects, including 11+ preparation, reading comprehension, writing, spelling, grammar and exam skills. I also have experience providing 1:1 SEN support and tutoring for pupils in alternative provision and care settings.
Whether a child needs help catching up, preparing for an exam or simply developing greater confidence in their learning, I aim to make every lesson positive, purposeful and enjoyable.
