About Taqwa
Hi! I’m a qualified teacher currently working in a private school, and I also have a degree in Psychology.
I love teaching because I enjoy helping children understand things that may seem difficult at first. My favourite part is seeing you become more confident and realise that you can do something you may have struggled with before.
In my lessons, you will always be able to ask questions, make mistakes and learn at your own pace. I will explain things clearly, help you step by step and make sure you understand before we move on.
My aim is to help you improve in English and Maths, feel more confident in school and become a stronger, more independent learner.

Each lesson will be planned around your child’s individual needs and the areas they need the most support with. I offer structured KS2 English and Maths lessons, including SATs preparation, reading comprehension, writing, grammar and punctuation, spelling, arithmetic and reasoning.
A typical lesson will begin with a short recap or starter activity to check prior understanding. I will then introduce or revisit the main topic using clear explanations and worked examples. We will complete guided questions together before your child moves on to independent practice so I can check that they can confidently apply what they have learnt.
Towards the end of the lesson, we will review the key learning, correct any misconceptions and identify what should be focused on next. Where appropriate, I can also provide short tasks or practice work between lessons.
For SATs preparation, lessons can include focused revision of weaker areas, exam-style questions, timed practice and support with exam technique.
I adapt the pace and difficulty of each lesson depending on the child, so pupils who are struggling can rebuild their foundations while more confident pupils can be challenged further.
