About Cheryl

Hello. I am a very experienced teacher of economics and business studies. I gained my teaching qualification in Wales and an MBA in Australia. I have taught for over 30 years in the UK and overseas. I am a supply teacher, so have experience across a wide range of schools and colleges. I am an Associate Examiner with the Edexcel Examination board and have also marked examination scripts for the AQA, and Cambridge examination boards. I was co-ordinator of the business training department of an international oil company in the Middle East. I developed BTEC training materials for a local technical college and taught in an international school in the Sultanate of Oman. In the UK, I have worked in the public and private sector, in schools and colleges. I was Head of Business and Economics in a UK international boarding school for many years. This was an interesting job as I met students from all over the world, including Vietnam, China, Nigeria, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. I am currently tutoring online, using Zoom etc. to teach Economics and Business Studies and have found this method of teaching very successful.

About the lesson

Hello. I am currently tutoring online, using Zoom, Skype etc. to teach A Level and GCSE Economics and Business Studies and undergraduate essay writing skills. I will be very patient with you if you are a slow learner. Don't worry if you are an Oxbridge candidate - I will stretch you well beyond the syllabus. The most important aspect of my teaching role is to develop your self-confidence so that you can reach your full potential. I will develop your self-confidence and a 'can do' attitude in you by making sure that the resources and teaching methods I use are tailored to your needs and designed to keep you motivated. I expect you to keep up to date with current economic, social, political and environmental issues and discuss these issues with me, applying the theory you have learned in the classroom to real-life context. I am an experienced exam board marker and know what is needed for an A grade so I can give you thorough and constructive feedback on your essays.
