About Caitlin
I am a dedicated A-level Psychology and Criminology teacher with over six years of tutoring experience and a proven record of success, including a 100% pass rate for the 11 Plus. I currently serve as an examiner for AQA A-level Psychology and WJEC Criminology, which gives me valuable insight into assessment objectives, mark schemes, and the skills students need to achieve top grades.
My teaching philosophy is centred on creating lessons that are fully tailored to each learner’s needs. I strive not only to educate students, but to enrich, excite, and inspire them — to spark curiosity and nurture a genuine passion for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
My inspiration for teaching stems from my own A-level Psychology teachers, who transformed complex topics into engaging, hands-on learning experiences. They showed me that true education goes far beyond the whiteboard — a belief that has been reinforced through observing IB Psychology lessons, where I saw first-hand how curiosity-driven teaching creates deep and lasting understanding.
I aim to help every student engage critically with material, develop independence, and gain confidence in their ability to think for themselves — skills that will not only help them excel academically but also prepare them for success in later life.

My first lesson with you will be assessing your knowledge and skills so I am able to underpin areas of weakness and concern. I also will complete a RAG rating sheet to see with you to see which areas you feel strongest in. I use a variety of visual, auditory and kinaesthetic teaching methods to support your learning. I test biweekly to track progress and offer parents a progress checker so they are able to check your learning. I cater for a variety of needs and learning styles. I am currently a Teacher of Psychology and head of Criminology. I have work also worked as a special needs teaching assistant and have experience with children with dyslexia, visual and hearing impairment and processing delays. The typical length of a lesson would be an hour. Expectations and homework tasks are set at the start of the lesson and re-reminded at the end of the lesson.

Caitlin tutored my Son for the 11 plus and it was the best thing for him! She carefully curated lessons suitable for his ability with creativity and love! She encourages them to do the best of their ability and shows genuine passion in wanting them to succeed. My son really struggled with verbal reasoning which Caitlin supported him with- funnily enough it was the highest score on his 11+! If not for Caitlin, my son would not have passed the 11 plus! You are fab!
Caitlin is a fantastic tutor. She tutored my daughter in maths and if it was not for her she would not have got the wonderful grade that she got! Caitlin is very patient, specialises each tutor session to an individuals' needs and is very creative. Caitlin provides everything that the student needs. I couldn't recommend her more.
