About Laila
I have entered my third year as a newly qualified secondary teacher. I believe education is powerful and can transform lives. I have a passion for imparting knowledge to students and seeing them flourish and progress. I was recently an examiner for the State Exams (Music Common Level) and I have also corrected exams for DEB. This has tremendously informed my practice as a teacher, by showing how high marks are achieved. I also teach piano and would be willing to travel to provide lessons. I teach all ages grades through RIAM or music for enjoyment. I have completed all the eight grades through RIAM.

My approach to lessons is centred on kindness, patience, and understanding. I believe that students learn best when they feel supported and respected, so I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style. I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome and mistakes are seen as part of the learning process. By building confidence alongside academic skills, I help students feel more comfortable with the material and more motivated to succeed.
