About William

I'm a fully qualified post-primary Music teacher with a BA in Music and Psychological Studies from Maynooth University and a Master's in Music Education from the University of Limerick.

Music has been a huge part of my life from a young age, both through performing and teaching. I'm an accomplished traditional Irish musician, having won three All-Ireland titles, including the Senior All-Ireland Mouth Organ Championship. I play a range of instruments, including fiddle, piano, guitar, banjo and tin whistle, and have extensive experience performing both as a soloist and with various musical groups.

Alongside my own musical background, I have over four years of experience teaching music to students of different ages and abilities, as well as experience teaching Music in secondary schools.

What I enjoy most about teaching is helping students develop their understanding, confidence and appreciation of music. I believe every student has the ability to improve with the right guidance, encouragement and approach.

Whether you're preparing for your Junior Cycle or Leaving Certificate examinations, my aim is to make learning music enjoyable, approachable and rewarding while helping you achieve your full potential.

About the lesson

I offer personalised grinds for Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate Music students, whether you're looking to improve your understanding of the course, build confidence or prepare for your examinations.

My teaching approach is friendly, patient and structured, with lessons tailored to each student's individual needs and learning pace. I believe in breaking down challenging topics into manageable steps, using clear explanations, practical demonstrations, listening exercises and exam-style questions to reinforce learning.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and can cover music theory, listening and aural skills, composition, practical performance and exam preparation, depending on the student's needs. I also place particular emphasis on developing effective exam techniques and working through past examination papers.

My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their musical skills and building confidence in their abilities.
