• When did you develop an interest in your subject and in private tutoring?

  My interest in maths began way back in 2006 in high school. I was motivated by a pool of classmates who used to surround me during subject matter discussions. Private tutoring interest developed in 2012.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, and the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  The fascinating part about maths is it's hard to lose focus even in the midst of the night, it's a numbers thing! Solving equations and inequalities is quite interesting, especially when substituting solutions in original equations to prove their correctness.

• Did you have any role models? Perhaps a teacher that inspired you?

  My pure maths and physics teachers were real role models, so passionate about teaching. That was so motivating to me.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Identification of learner strengths and weaknesses, patience and flexible teaching approaches are vital qualities for good tutoring.

• Share an anecdote related to your subject or your school days.

  My high school teacher used to say "Maths is not just numbers but a smart and simple language for everyone including those who can't give a fluent English speech".

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing at school?

  The most difficult part about tutoring is making a learner develop an interest and the "I can do it" attitude. Once this is done it's all systems go for me.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general, an element of this particular subject, or something completely different?

  My passion is in teaching sciences & mechanical engineering. For maths, it's just too much because it's coupled with a lot of experience in the subject!

  Being exposed and offering services to various academic institutions and individuals, experience, and in-depth knowledge of my subjects matter together with the desire to develop educated societies, makes me a Superprof.
