About Julia
Qualified, experienced and passionate head of business teaching, ICT and professional studies manager, I teach A Level, GCSE and BTEC business.
Driven by tangible results, my lessons encourage students to embrace the dynamic world of business. You will be engaged in a great learning journey, supported with timely formative and summative assessments to achieve your potential.
The most effective tutoring should combine academic and theoretical knowledge with a practitioner's relevant industry experience.
Having worked specifically in the marketing sector for over 20 years, my teaching delivery is supportive yet strategic - ultimately it is about executing results.
My industry experience, working with b2b/b2c FTSE 100 companies; teaching business studies L3 - L5 for eight years; being Head of Department for Business in a leading college in Surrey, along with my Design degree and L5 full teaching qualification, helps give teaching business more relevance to learners on a 121 level and in the schools I teach. I am experienced with SEN.
Learning is lifelong and the teaching and assessment strategies I use for my learners involves folowing key examining body materials for Edexcel / AQA; giving theoretical and practical tasks with timely past exam assessments; on-going support with challenging A Level topic questions and marked homework with full feedback.
Together with the learner, we can structure a personalised learning plan to guide through key topics and exam preparation. However, remember that independent studies is key! Timely completion of homework tasks will help maximise on high mark questions.
