About Lynette
Hello! I’m Lynette, a qualified and passionate English teacher who believes that learning should be both effective and enjoyable.
I hold a TEFL certification and have about five years of experience teaching English online through Preply. I also have experience working with young learners in person, including Grade R, as well as students at different stages of their English-learning journey.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and student-centred. I understand that every learner is different, so I adapt my lessons to suit your individual level, learning goals, and confidence. Whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate learner, a child developing foundational English skills, or an adult or professional worker who desires to speak more confidently, I will help you progress at a comfortable and manageable pace.
You will receive plenty of opportunities to speak and actively participate during the lesson. I use conversation, practical examples, stories, games, role-play, vocabulary activities, pronunciation practice, and other interactive techniques to make lessons engaging and memorable.
Mistakes are a part of life. Mistakes are a normal and valuable part of learning, and I provide supportive corrections and constructive feedback so that you can improve without feeling discouraged.
My aim is not simply to teach you English, but to help you develop the confidence actually to use it in everyday life.

Do you want to improve your English but feel nervous about making mistakes? Perhaps you understand English reasonably well but struggle to speak naturally and confidently? Or maybe you are starting from the very beginning and need a patient teacher who will guide you step by step.
That is where I can help.
I am a qualified teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, TEFL certification, and approximately two years of online English teaching experience. My approach is warm, encouraging, and highly personalised. I don't believe in a “one-size-fits-all” lesson — I adapt my teaching to your level, personality, interests and goals.
My lessons are practical, engaging, and designed around YOU!
I will teach you to actively use English from the very beginning. Depending on your goals, I will use conversation, games, stories, role-play, pronunciation practice, vocabulary activities, reading, grammar exercises, and real-life exercises.
My priority is helping you use English, not simply study it.
I create a relaxed environment where you can make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. Mistakes are a natural part of learning, and I use them as opportunities to help you improve. I will support you with corrections, useful feedback, and plenty of opportunities to practise speaking.
What can you expect from your lessons with me?
Each lesson is structured around a clear objective while remaining flexible enough to respond to your needs.
We will begin with a friendly conversation or warm-up, followed by the main lesson activity. We will then practise the new language together and finish by reviewing what you've learned. I want you to leave every lesson knowing exactly what you have improved on and that you will be able to use it in your everyday conversations.
