About Nomvelo
Hello future students,
My name is Nomvelo Mlambo, and I am a Business Studies and Economics tutor with a PGCE specializing in Business Studies and Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a banking consultant, where I gained first-hand experience of how businesses, financial markets, and economic policies work in the real world.
My interest in teaching comes from a strong belief that education should be practical, meaningful, and empowering. While working in banking, I saw how important it is to truly understand concepts like decision-making, risk, finance, and economic behavior—not just for exams, but for life. I wanted to help students bridge the gap between theory and reality, and that inspired me to move into teaching.
I enjoy teaching because I love seeing students grow in confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking. Business and Economics are not just subjects—they explain how the world works. My goal is to make lessons engaging, relevant, and easy to understand, while helping you develop the skills to analyze problems, think independently, and succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.

My lessons are unique because they blend strong pedagogy, academic rigour, and real-world business experience into every session.
As a tutor with a PGCE specialising in Business Studies and Economics, I don’t just know the content—I know how to teach it effectively. Lessons are carefully structured, differentiated for different learning abilities, and aligned with exam board requirements (IGCSE, A-Level, IB, or equivalent). I focus on conceptual clarity, ensuring students truly understand why economic and business theories work, not just how to memorise them.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, I bring a solid grounding in accounting, finance, management, and economics. This allows me to make strong links between topics such as market structures, financial statements, elasticity, and business decision-making—helping students see the big picture rather than isolated topics.
My experience as a banking consultant sets my lessons apart. I enrich theory with real-life case studies, practical examples from financial institutions, and current business scenarios. Students learn how concepts like interest rates, risk management, cash flow, investment decisions, and macroeconomic policy operate in the real world—making lessons engaging, relevant, and memorable.
