About Yevette
Hi, I’m Yevette — trainer, owner-trainer, and the human behind YoPaws. YoPaws was born from lived experience. I’m an assistance dog handler myself, and my journey with Yoshi showed me just how powerful a well-supported human–dog partnership can be — not just in skills, but in confidence, safety, and everyday life. I work with pet dogs, therapy dogs, and assistance dogs, supporting both dogs and their humans through calm, ethical, and relationship-centered training. I have a particular passion for working with owner-trainers and creating neurodivergent-friendly learning spaces where people feel safe, understood, and never judged. My approach is practical and real-world focused. Training should fit into your life — not add pressure or overwhelm. Whether you’re starting with a puppy, navigating challenges, or building foundations for future work, I meet you where you are and move at a pace that supports growth for both ends of the lead. About Our Lessons
Our sessions are about more than training — they’re about building understanding, confidence, and trust between dogs and their humans.
We support pet dogs, therapy dogs, and assistance dogs, with a strong focus on owner-trainers, neurodivergent-friendly learning, and practical, real-life skills that matter day to day.
Sessions are calm, flexible, and tailored to you and your dog. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here — we meet you where you’re at and move at a pace that feels safe, achievable, and supportive, whether you’re starting with a puppy, working through challenges, or building foundations for future work.

Loving the adult swim classes - Yvette is so empowering and wonderful. She makes it feel lighthearted and fun so you’re willing to just give it a try. She has been the only teacher to get me even remotely near being able to freestyle!
Yevette is a very experienced swimming instructor. She has a lot of patience and you will feel comfortable with her. I highly recommend Yevette.
