About Ilze
Hi, my name is Ilze and I am a qualified teacher from South Africa with experience teaching learners in Grades 4 to 7. I have a strong background in Afrikaans and enjoy helping learners understand the language in a simple and practical way.
I am passionate about working with children and helping them build confidence in their language skills. I believe that every learner can succeed with the right support, and I enjoy finding different ways to explain work so that it makes sense to them.
I am patient, friendly, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where learners feel comfortable and motivated to learn.

My Afrikaans lessons are structured in a simple and supportive way to help learners understand the language with confidence. I adapt each lesson to the learner’s level and pace, making sure they feel comfortable and not overwhelmed.
I focus on reading, writing, comprehension, spelling and speaking skills. I use practical examples, exercises and discussions to help learners understand their work, rather than just memorising rules. I also assist with homework, test and exam preparation.
I create a calm and encouraging environment where learners feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. My aim is to help learners improve their marks, but also to build their confidence and make Afrikaans feel easier and more enjoyable.
