About Shan
I am a qualified Teacher and experienced Statistics tutor providing one-to-one tuition from 11+ through to GCSE, IGCSE, O-Level, A-Level, and introductory university-level Statistics.
I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK and have a strong academic background in mathematics, statistics, and quantitative reasoning, supported by a BSc in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and ongoing postgraduate study in Mathematics.
Alongside private tutoring, I have extensive classroom experience as a Further Education (FE) College Mathematics Lecturer, where I have taught GCSE and A-Level students across a wide range of abilities. This experience enables me to explain statistical ideas clearly, particularly to students who find data, probability, or interpretation challenging.
My sessions are reserved for students and families who value clarity, structure, and confidence building, especially in a subject that many learners initially find abstract or intimidating.
Prior Tutee Testimonials:
Shan is an incredible tutors! He is very committed to ensuring that I fully understand topics which I initially found tricky and overwhelming. By breaking them down into manageable sections, I find myself becoming more confident in Maths and Economics. I appreciate the way he makes lessons so much more enjoyable, especially since these subjects seemed so daunting and complicated at first."

My Statistics lessons are highly structured, methodical, and exam-focused, with a strong emphasis on building understanding from first principles. Each session is tailored to the student’s syllabus and exam board, and typically includes clear explanation of concepts, step-by-step worked examples, and targeted practice using exam-standard questions.
I place particular emphasis on interpretation, method, and accuracy, ensuring students understand how to approach statistical questions, present working clearly, and draw correct conclusions from data. This approach is especially effective for students who struggle with probability, hypothesis testing, or applying formulas under exam conditions.
Lessons are fully personalised and progressive, helping students build confidence, improve precision, and develop the independence required to tackle unfamiliar statistical problems at higher levels.
