About Abby
I was classically educated at an academically rigorous private school K-12; then graduated Cum Laude with a degree in English from The King's College. I worked as an editor for a year after graduation, and have experience both as a teacher and a tutor.

Building a relationship with each student is one of my strengths. My approach centers on the individual needs of each client, and I thoughtfully strategize about what will work best for them. I work well with English language learners, and have experience preparing high school students for the reading SOL and the ACT WorkKeys reading and writing tests in a public school setting. My training in formal rhetoric and work as a writer and former editor set me up well to help students with grammar, writing mechanics, organization, flow, and eloquence. My English degree means I can also help students read and analyze texts. In addition, I have taken advanced Latin and can help students master the language. I like to make each session engaging, asking questions throughout.
