About Sourjya
Hi, I'm Sourjya! I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics and Statistics, and I've spent the last couple of years genuinely obsessed with how math and code can be used to solve real problems — from modeling economic cycles to building risk-assessment tools.
Alongside my degree, I lead the technical team at an innovation and incubation center, and I recently had my research on mathematical modeling accepted at an international conference. I say this not to boast, but so you know I'm not just teaching from a textbook — I use these concepts in real projects, and I care about actually understanding them, not just getting through exams.
I got into tutoring because I remember exactly how frustrating it felt to be stuck on a concept with no one to properly explain the "why" behind it, not just the "how." My goal in every class is to make sure you leave not just knowing the answer, but understanding it well enough to solve the next problem on your own.
I'm patient, straightforward, and genuinely enjoy watching a concept click for someone — whether you're a school student building your first foundations or a college student working through a tough DSA problem set the night before an exam

I teach through problem-solving, not just theory. Real understanding comes from working through problems yourself, not watching someone else solve them.
A typical class: I start by checking what you already know or where you're stuck, explain the concept with simple examples, then move to harder problems together. I always leave time for you to try one on your own while I guide, not solve, since that's where learning actually happens. For programming and DSA, we work directly in code, not just on a whiteboard.
What makes me different: I'm a Computer Science student myself with published research experience, including an accepted paper at an international conference. I recently sat where you're sitting, so I understand exam pressure and coursework difficulty firsthand — and I bring real project experience in data analysis and machine learning to make abstract concepts concrete.
Who I teach: School students (math, intro programming), college students (DSA, probability, statistics, linear algebra, DBMS), and complete beginners learning to code. I adjust pace and depth based on whether you're prepping for an exam, building a foundation, or working on a project.

Sourjya has given multiple CS lessons to me at during our time at UNI. The nightly sessions in this dorm room one day before my CS exams is a big reason why I successfully passed Uni. His strong grasps in every concept along with his gentle patient way of teaching and explaining me everything n number of times in a calm and composed way is worth noting. I can guarantee anyone who interacts with sourjya will have the same experience if not better.
I've had the opportunity to see Sourjya's passion for technology and learning firsthand. He is highly skilled, knowledgeable, and has an excellent grasp of computer science concepts. What stands out most is his patience and dedication to ensuring that every student truly understands a topic rather than simply memorising it. He explains concepts clearly, encourages questions, and creates a comfortable learning environment where students can build confidence.
