About Yusra
My name is Yusra, and I’m a Psychology graduate from the University of Warwick. I’ve always been genuinely interested in how people think, learn, and behave, and that curiosity is what led me to study Psychology in depth at both school and university.
I actually really enjoyed Psychology from the moment I started it at A-Level, where I achieved an A*. What I liked most wasn’t just the content itself, but the way it helped me understand real human behavior. That interest carried on through university, where I continued to build my knowledge and stay engaged with areas like clinical psychology, developmental psychology, and mental health.
Alongside my studies, I’ve had a lot of experience working with people in different settings. I’ve worked in a private clinic supporting a child psychiatrist, where I saw how important clear communication, patience, and trust are when working with young people and families. I’ve also been involved in mentoring and support roles, which gave me experience helping people stay organized, build confidence, and approach learning in a structured way.
I’ve always enjoyed teaching in some form. At university, I was part of the Psychology society, and I also ran a Psychology club for 15–16 year olds where I explained topics in a simple, engaging way and encouraged lots of discussion and questions. I really enjoy breaking down complex ideas and making them feel much more approachable.
For me, tutoring isn’t just about getting through the syllabus — it’s about helping students feel more confident in a subject that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I keep up with Psychology outside of academics as well, whether that’s reading articles or staying interested in current ideas in the field, because I genuinely enjoy it and want to keep learning.
I’m looking forward to working with students in Australia and helping them not only improve their grades, but actually feel more comfortable and confident in Psychology.

My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and focused on helping students actually understand Psychology rather than just memorizing content for exams. I know Psychology can feel quite content-heavy at times, so I aim to break everything down into simple, clear ideas and make it easier to remember by using real-life examples and discussion wherever possible.
I like to keep lessons interactive, so I encourage questions throughout and make sure students feel comfortable saying when something isn’t making sense. I often use examples, step-by-step explanations, and short practice questions to help students build confidence as we go, rather than overwhelming them with too much information at once.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes. We usually start by going over what the student is currently learning or struggling with, then focus on explaining the topic clearly, and finally apply it to exam-style questions so they understand how to structure answers and pick up marks effectively.
Alongside my degree in Psychology from the University of Warwick, I’ve supported students in a range of settings, including running a Psychology club for 15–16 year olds where I taught topics in an engaging, simplified way and encouraged open discussion. I’ve also worked in SEN education and mentoring roles, which has given me strong experience in adapting explanations to different learning styles and helping students build confidence step by step.
