About Thomas
Welcome! Let's get you feeling more confident, better prepared, and on track to achieving the strong results you'd like in psychology.
I'm Tom, an Oxford graduate and incoming Trainee Psychologist. Here, I offer thoughtful, high-quality, tutoring grounded in my own experience, strong academic record and genuine enthusiasm for psychology. My own academic experience includes an MSc in Psychology with a high Distinction (80% overall). I also won the academic prize for best overall student in postgraduate psychology amongst 250+ other graduates.
My approach is tailored closely to you - your goals, learning preferences and priorities. Alongside strong academics, I bring excellent people skills which I've developed as a former diplomat and current mental health professional. This means you can expect me to be empathetic, attuned, reflective and compassionate - because studying can be hard, and emotionally demanding!

My tutoring approach is flexible and bespoke. In our first (free) session, we'll sketch out the kind of support you'd most benefit from. I'll then develop a tailored tutoring plan for your approval which we can add to, or change, as our sessions progress.
I care deeply that you get practical benefits from our sessions. So, overall, we'll measure the success of our time together through keeping your specific goals top of mind. As a practising mental health professional, I also draw upon behavioural science principles for a tutoring approach grounded in evidence-based research.
This extends to supporting neurodivergent students - including those with experiences of ADHD. Here, I am experienced in adapting educational content and jointly implementing proven strategies to help with motivation, task initiation and completion.
