About Youkang

Hi! I’m Harry, a Ph.D. student in School Psychology at UC Berkeley with a strong background in psychology, education, and research. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Economics from Brandeis University, where I graduated with high academic honors.

I have experience teaching and mentoring students in both psychology and quantitative subjects, and I enjoy making complex concepts easier to understand through clear explanations, real-world examples, and individualized support. As a psychology researcher and graduate student, I am especially familiar with topics such as developmental psychology, social psychology, mental health, research methods, statistics, and human behavior.

My teaching style is supportive, organized, and tailored to each student’s needs. I want students not only to perform well on exams, but also to genuinely understand the material and feel more confident as learners. For AP Psychology students, I can help with content review, research methods, AP-style questions, FRQs, study strategies, and exam preparation.

About the lesson

I offer personalized AP Psychology tutoring designed to help students understand key concepts, strengthen exam skills, and feel confident going into the AP exam. Lessons are tailored to each student’s current level, learning style, and goals.

We can cover all major AP Psychology topics, including biological bases of behavior, cognition, development and learning, social psychology and personality, and mental and physical health. I also provide targeted support with research methods, experimental design, data interpretation, and psychological applications, which are especially important for the updated AP Psychology exam.

Sessions may include:

* Clear explanations of difficult concepts and theories
* Review of class materials and homework
* AP-style multiple-choice practice
* Practice with FRQs, including the Article Analysis Question (AAQ) and Evidence-Based Question (EBQ)
* Test-taking strategies and time management
* Unit reviews and AP exam preparation
* Personalized study plans based on areas of strength and weakness

My goal is not just to help students memorize vocabulary, but to help them understand psychological concepts, apply them to real-world situations, interpret research, and explain their reasoning clearly. Whether you are looking for ongoing support throughout the school year or intensive preparation before the AP exam, lessons can be customized to fit your needs.
