About Cierra
I'm a student at Colorado Early Colleges, currently working to get my degree in psychology, and a peer tutor for my fellow classmates for high school and college english courses. I have completed all required high school level english courses, as well as college English 121. I have struggled with learning disabilities my entire life, I have a visual processing disorder, and I couldn't read or write productively until I was nine and struggled to learn the easiest and most beneficial ways to write, read, and form sentences. I understand what it's like to struggle academically, and how hard it can be to struggle in school. With hard work, tutoring and practice, I was able to learn how to excel in english. Freshman year of high school, I tested into college english 121, and was recommended to be in the gifted and talented program at my school for my writing , as well as a peer tutor for both high school and college english courses. One of the most important skills that I bring to tutoring and teaching, is my personal experience struggling in school, and having to learn over and over again how to over come that, and now I have the ability to teach that to others.

I am still a student myself, a lot of the topics, and skills students and kids struggle with academically, I still use on a regular everyday basis. I have a lot of learning disabilities and could not read, or write properly for a long time growing up, so I understand deeply what it feels like to struggle academically, and what methods work best to make writing, and reading, easier and fun. I offer peer reviewing always, even outside of sessions, students are always welcome to send me their papers, questions, theses, outlines, ideas, etc... Sessions will be twelve dollars an hour and will be offered online for an hour via zoom, or google duo. Typically, I will ask students what they are working on and how they are confused, and work with them on their essays and assignments. I aid them in sentence structure and grammar, thesis statement structure, and paper formatting, reading comprehension, rhetoric, rhetorical writing, and more. These lessons are offered to students ranging from the elementary to the college level who need help with academic english writing, and various english topics.
