About Veronika

I am a BSs Psychology graduate that loves writing and has spent over three years developing her academic competencies at a university as well as in a Research assistant job. Currently, I continue enhancing these skills through a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology.

I have loved English language ever since 3 years old, when attending "play time" with an English teacher in my kindergarten in Slovakia. Throughout my childhood and teenage years I grew to become an avid learner of new languages.

I would like to invite you into a safe and fun environment of sharing my passions for psychology, research and English language.

About the lesson

I utilise a person-centred approach to teaching, i.e. identifying individual's learning style and prior knowledge before developing learning objectives.

I am a BSc Psychology graduate with a first class degree that has 1 year of Research assistant experience. This means I can support with essay writing and exam preparation at an A level, as well as with all the necessary components of the research process.

Including but not limited to:
- literature search and evaluation
- running and interpreting statistical tests (in SPSS)
- transcribing and analysing qualitative data (through Thematic analysis)
- writing up a research report

My academic writing and research skills are applicable to undergraduate university students (Psychology being the best fit, but will consider different courses).

Further, my English language experience comes from my own English learning journey since kindergarten and tutoring my peers at different levels and various learning styles. I have number of resources and materials for learning and improving speaking, writing and listening skills at levels up to B2+ for ESL students. While not a necessity, when learning English as a non-native speaker, you might appreciate support I offer as a multilingual tutor. I am a native Slovak speaker and have a comprehension of most of the Slavic languages (mainly Czech, somewhat Polish and Slovene languages). I also have a pre-intermediate comprehension of German and Spanish to help during the lesson. I do not offer support with English Literature.

The lessons range from 30min to 60min, but can last longer if required.
