About Joshua
My name is Joshua, and I am a Psychology graduate with extensive experience working one-to-one with students in SEN settings. I teach because I have seen how many capable students disengage when support focuses only on content rather than how they think, regulate, and organise their learning. My aim is to provide structured, calm, and psychologically informed support that helps students understand themselves as learners and develop lasting academic independence. I work professionally with families and adapt carefully to each student’s needs while maintaining clear expectations and consistent standards.

My lessons are psychology-led and SEN-informed, designed for students who find traditional tutoring ineffective. I focus on literacy, organisation, executive function, and academic structure, with particular experience supporting ASD, ADHD, and language-based needs. Sessions are typically 60 minutes and adapt responsively to the student’s regulation, attention, and learning profile. I prioritise building independence, clarity of thinking, and sustained progress rather than short-term task completion. I hold a 2:1 Psychology degree and have extensive one-to-one SEN experience across primary and secondary age ranges. I also send detailed weekly reports.
