About Maria
I am currently employed as a Lecturer and I have extensive teaching and research experience in the field.
I have worked with diverse student bodies from different disciplines in small and large groups and I have supervised students at all levels including undergraduates and post-graduates.Having received my undergraduate education in Forensic Psychology from an American University and my postgraduate education in the UK helped me understand how student and academic diversity can promote rewarding learning experiences. My academic experience of being part of such diverse academic environments and communities, have made me aware of the different needs across diverse student bodies. My involvement in multiple interdisciplinary research projects has also heightened my commitment and passion for research and teaching.

I design my classes according to each individual group's needs avoiding traditional one-size-fits all models. I strongly believe that active learning is enhanced by interaction and ongoing constructive feedback. My approach is based on the scientist-practitioner model where empirical research informs teaching. I am very motivated and enthusiastic about my subject and, therefore, I am an active researcher in forensic youth psychology.
