I am Saakshi Sharma, psychology postgraduate from University of Essex, UK and double bachelors in Education and Human Development & Childhood Studies from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. I am currently working as a substitute educator at the American Embassy School, New Delhi.

I plan to adopt a child-centric model of motivation wherein the child is at the centre of the instruction process. I believe in motivating the child through restitution, while guiding them to construct their understanding of the world around them. As a result, children feel motivated to develop critical
thinking skills which helps them analyse and interpret different perspectives and issues.
As an educator, I am tolerant, supportive and accepting towards diversity and differences in abilities and beliefs. I firmly believe in taking responsibilities of my work with transparency and accountability. I have a strong desire to positively influence, educate and enrich the lives of the student while motivating them through patience, understanding, compassion and sensitivity. I am flexible and responsive to the needs of the children while maintaining their confidentiality at all times. My skills and abilities include effectively using Moodle, SPSS, ANOVA, GeoGebra, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and use of smart/interactive board along with constructing wiki-page, webpage and blogs wherever needed in my lesson plan. My areas of interest keep me updated and help me work hand in hand with the growing needs of the education system. I spend my leisure time practising NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), mindfulness, constructing theme-based teaching-learning games and reading Autobiographies of famous practitioners in the fields of Special Education.
