About Om
I have been learning Hindustani Classical Music since the age of 6 and have received a Distinction in the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya examinations. Currently I am learning under the able guidance of Gandhar Ram Deshpande. Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding and appreciation for the traditions, techniques and nuances of Hindustani Classical music, which continue to form the foundation of my musical journey. With over 12 years of professional performance experience, I have performed at platforms such as the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Dahisar River Festival and prestigious venues including NMACC. My experience with contemporary and fusion music through bands such as Mehfilae, Lokan and Stage Fright has further helped me explore how a strong classical foundation can enrich Bollywood and other genres, while keeping Hindustani Classical music at the heart of my approach.
