About Emory

My interest in programming began with curiosity about solving real-world problems through logical thinking, which led me to earn a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Over 7 years of teaching, I have guided students through building strong foundations in Python, Java, and algorithms, while fostering creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. I emphasise clarity, patience, and interactive guidance, ensuring students feel supported while learning at their own pace.

I focus on project-based and hands-on learning, encouraging students to experiment, ask questions, and develop independent problem-solving skills. Lessons are structured to help learners understand why their code works, not just how, reinforcing conceptual understanding and long-term skill development. I provide detailed feedback, debugging strategies, and stepwise guidance to build confidence in coding abilities.

Beyond teaching, I remain engaged with the latest technologies, programming challenges, and software development practices to bring up-to-date knowledge into my lessons. Witnessing students transform from uncertainty to successfully implementing their own programmes is deeply fulfilling. My aim is to inspire curiosity, persistence, and creative problem-solving, helping learners thrive in programming and gain confidence in their ability to tackle logical challenges effectively.

Programming becomes enjoyable when students can see the logical structure behind every piece of code. My lessons focus on building strong foundations in Python, Java, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and practical project development. I emphasise step-by-step explanations, real-world examples, and interactive exercises to help learners gain confidence in coding. Students learn how to break problems into smaller parts, design solutions logically, and implement them efficiently, fostering both creativity and structured thinking in programming.

Lessons are adapted to each student’s level. Beginners explore variables, loops, conditions, and small programmes, while intermediate learners learn modular programming, functions, debugging, and algorithm design. Advanced students tackle complex projects, data structures, APIs, and optimisation techniques. Every lesson includes practical coding exercises, detailed feedback, and discussions on best practices, ensuring that learners develop solid coding habits and a deep understanding of programming concepts.

Programming develops skills beyond coding—it builds logical reasoning, problem-solving, persistence, and creativity. My goal is to help learners approach programming with confidence, enjoy experimentation, and understand the logic behind every solution. I aim to make coding both empowering and accessible, helping students develop skills that can be applied academically, professionally, and in personal projects with independence and creativity.
