About Void

Python is the strongest tool I use professionally, both for writing cyber security focused tools in the workplace, and for writing my own projects.

Professionally I am a cyber security researcher and engineer. My last few years have been spent both working offensively and defensively to help keep companies safe.

I'm a general technologist, with a background in maths, physics, computer science and electronic engineering (at A2 level). I am well educated, having attended a prestigious private UK secondary school. I have a Computer Science degree from Reading University (UK), however I spent most of my undergrad time teaching rather than studying.

Aside from my technology background, I love skiing, kayaking, I'm currently staying in Japan for a year with family learning the language and culture, and I have a passion for music.

About the lesson

I like to be efficient with time and resources, so I prefer to hit the ground running. Before the lesson I will discuss with you about where you're at, what you want and generally try to get an understanding of what will be most valuable to you.

Teaching for me is about engaging the student with content and systems they are already familiar with.

Some examples
- Student interest in sports: lesson material will be around sport terminology, player management, gear stock, etc.
- Student interest in a particular band: lesson material will be around said band's concert dates, scraping concert date info, how to store it, building an alert system etc.
- Student interest in nature: lesson material will be around animals, trees, weather data collection, etc.

Knowing more about you will help me tailor the lesson to you, and make the lesson more valuable to you.
