About Donnette
Hello learners: my name is Professor Donnette D-Austin. I have had the pleasure of lecturing within the classroom in both public speaking, interpersonal communication, as well as cross cultural communication. I am a two time NYU (New York University) graduate and I also earned an AAS in Journalism and Print Media from KCC, a local community college in New York. Outside of the classroom, I also run my own Bistro and Lounge and airbnb business. After 24 years in the academia I took some time two years ago after the pandemic eased, to focus on developing and marketing my business, but I am headed back to the classroom this Summer 2024. If you want to know more, when we meet I will discuss more on my academic as well as business successes. As the famous late Joan Rivers use to say, "Can we talk." Smiles!

My teaching practice, developed from over two decades of lecturing in the academia, have both a theoretical and practical approach, allowing students to walk away with tangible experiences which impacts their career, academic, as well as personal development goals. My lessons are for career beginners, as well as intermediate communication managers and advanced communication managers who needs a refresher communication/public speaking course. Course syllabi will cover all requirements for the entire duration of the course, dates are set for all chapters which must be read and discussed in class, group assignments are mandatory as it emulates the real world of works experience, and all lessons as well as presentation dates.
