About Daniel
Educated at: Royal Academy of Music Junior Department The Purcell School of Music The Royal College of Music (Degree) Taught at Tri-borough Music Hub, The Master Music School, Fireworks Music School, St. Paul’s Cathedral School. Currently teaching at London Music Centre. Grade 8 Distinction (awarded Ralph Basset Award for the highest mark in the county, after 2 years from starting violin). All my students have received distinctions so far in their grade exams. Daniel earned his recognition from a young age as the ‘Grand Prix’ winner at the Northfield Festival for Music and Speech. As a young violinist raised in Britain, he completed his ABRSM grades within 2 and a half years of starting the violin, winning the ‘Ralph Basset’ award for achieving one of the highest scores in his exam. During his education, he went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Department with a full scholarship, before being awarded a full scholarship to continue his studies at the Purcell School of Music, London. He finally went on to finish his education at the Royal College of Music, London. Daniel had the privilege of working with renowned professors and musicians such as Berent Korfker, Lutsia Ibragimova, Carmel Kabine, Uwe-Martin Haiberg and Alina Ibragimova. Daniel’s teaching career began at the age of 16, teaching privately and has then continued to build his capability as a teacher. He has worked with many organisations such as: Tri-Borough Music Hub, Hackney City Academy, The Masters Music School, St Paul’s Cathedral School and Highbury Grove School, teaching in group, individual and ensemble settings. He believes that everyone deserves a musical education, which allows them to express themselves freely. Since working as a teacher for 10 years, his students have won prizes at ‘The North London Festival for Music and Dance’, ‘The Brighton Springboard Music Festival’, as well as the prestigious ‘Singapore Competition for Violin and Piano’. He is focused now on growing his class and looking always for future talents! Daniel was recently appointed head of strings in Harrow and continues to foster new talent. Orchestral and ensemble playing has been a big part of Daniel’s career, and he has played with orchestras such as: The London Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru, Southbank Sinfonia, Orchestra of the Swan, Chineke and many more. His career has taken him in concert halls all over the world including the Royal Albert Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Purcell Room, Royal Festival Hall, The BOZAR (Brussels), Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Alt Oper in Frankfurt, Elphilharmonie Hamburg plus many more. He is also exploring music outside of classical music, having done UK tours with artists such as Tony Hadley, Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra, as well as performing in international music festivals such as: ‘In the Wildes’ and Isle of Wight’ music festival. Daniel is kindly supported by the Maggini Stiftung in Switzerland and plays on a 1802 Collin Mezin made in Paris.

Music lessons should always be fun but productive! I believe that once students get a sense of achievement through music the possibilities for them are endless! I usually teach beginners basic foundations through different exercises, whilst always trying to incorporate a piece of music as well. I feel ABRSM are a good way to set goals and they are helpful in developing a student's overall skill. Also, I like to concentrate on enabling the student to be able to develop their technique so they always feel very comfortable with the instrument and they can ultimately play whatever they please! I think the general consensus from my experience in teaching is that the student must have fun to be able to be productive and also be productive to have fun! I have extensive experience in teaching adults and children alike, but I specialize in creating a tailored positive learning experience for ages 6-13.

Perfect! Daniel has an incredible ability to engage with young learners to understand their struggle and tailor each session to help them conquer the enormous challenge of playing violin. His patience, encouragement and expertise help my two children make remarkable progress in both technical skills and musical expression. Daniel is truly passionate about teaching and highly recommended.
Perfect! I just had the first lesson. He is great on working through the basics (what I needed as someone who is self-taught) , was very patient with clear explanations and useful suggestions. I can see him being great with children as well as adults. Definitely continuing with him.

Daniel is a brilliantly technical violinist and equally expert at breaking his knowledge down for learners. He worked with my son on the ABRSM grade 7 & 8 syllabuses. Highly recommended.
Since studying with Daniel, Isabel’s confidence and musicality have soared – Daniel’s clear, professional, patient teaching style brings out the best in her playing! We are truly delighted to have found Daniel as a violin teacher for our son. From the start, he has been kind, bringing extreme enthusiasm and dedication to every lesson, creating a fun and supportive learning environment that our son looks forward to each week.
Since working with Daniel, our son has been enjoying playing and practicing his violin so much more. In just a few months, his technique has greatly improved—his bowing is smoother, and his notes are more precise, reflecting Daniel’s clear guidance and encouragement.
Daniel’s resourceful preparation for the ABRSM exam was exceptional. He provided tailored practice materials, including mock tests, ensuring our son was confident and ready. As a result, our son passed his exam with distinction much earlier than we expected, a milestone that boosted his confidence and love for the violin.Mr Jung’s lessons were fun and he explains everything very clearly in the lesson.
