About Preston
I believe that every trumpet lesson should inspire students to become more confident, expressive, and technically skilled musicians. My teaching style combines structured instruction with flexibility, allowing students to progress naturally while enjoying the learning process.
Lessons begin by establishing strong fundamentals in breathing, embouchure, posture, articulation, rhythm, scales, note reading, tone production, and music theory before progressing to flexibility exercises, endurance, expressive phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, ear training, orchestral repertoire, jazz performance, ensemble playing, and advanced solo techniques.
I also focus on developing stage confidence, musical interpretation, and efficient practice habits that help students continue growing independently. My goal is to build not only excellent trumpet players but also confident and passionate musicians.

My trumpet lessons provide students with a complete musical education that goes beyond learning notes and techniques. Along with developing breathing, posture, embouchure, articulation, rhythm, scales, tone quality, and music reading, students learn how to perform with confidence, musicality, and expression.
Lessons include flexibility exercises, endurance development, phrasing, dynamics, ear training, sight reading, music theory, and practice planning. Advanced students study orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo literature, ensemble performance, advanced tonguing, and audition preparation.
My patient teaching style, personalized guidance, and constructive feedback help students build excellent habits that support long term success and continuous improvement.
