About Kate

My vocals have been featured on albums by artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Frank Turner, Marillion, Koven and more. I have a lot of live & recording experience - have performed live with TesseracT and have featured on a lot of tracks as a background / ghost vocalist in genres such as Pop, EDM, Rock, Metal etc.

I specialise in live / studio performance, vocal agility and power. I hold a Grade 8 Trinity Guildhall vocal diploma as well as a Piano Grade 5 and Music Theory Grade 5. I have trained students for shows and performances and have also prepared them for auditions and vocal exams. Over the last few years, I have released covers under my artist name 'Finding Kate' that show my range if you'd like to take a look / listen. I have played hundreds of shows and I believe my experience in the music industry help me have a different approach to other teachers.

About the lesson

I have a fresh and unique approach to teaching and believe that students should be enjoying the lessons first by feeling confident & comfortable. I am friendly and have years of experience in the industry as a session vocalist and singer/songwriter. **Please note: it won't let me edit my address. I am based in E8 (Hackney). Please reach out with any questions you may have - I provide online lessons, or lessons in person at my studio space in Haggerston. Alternatively, I can travel to you at an additional cost.

Perfect! Kate is a fun, kind and honest teacher. She rightly identified that my lack of confidence was preventing me from hitting those high notes and after a thorough warm-up and several tips to project my voice, I got better at it. Outside of lessons I don't really have the opportunity to sing my heart out to other people, so I really appreciated her professional (and positive!) feedback about my voice and for providing me a safe mental space to sing. I would definitely recommend her!

I was always hesitant to sing in front of others, even though I was told I had a good voice. Taking lessons with Kate helped me get over my nerves. She was patient and explained how to control the nerves, and to control my voice. I am definitely a much better and stronger singer since taking lessons.
