About Rhys

I am a Welsh Tenor born in Anglesey, based in Cardiff. I completed my undergraduate studies at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and my Master of Arts (Performance) at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
When I have time, I love watching sports, specifically Football. I’ve played a lot of team sports at a young age, which means I understand the meaning of togetherness, to be able to achieve a goal.

About the lesson

I can offer lessons in Welsh or English, depending on student’s preference. During hard times of Covid, I was still teaching 1-1 online over zoom/facetime. I have also recently joined the Jigsaw Performing Arts team, teaching children between the age of 3-7 years old.

I think it is important for the student to be heard. As a teacher, I am always in discussion with the student and share ideas not only for them to develop, but for me to fulfil my best potential. If I’m always improving, so will the student.

I have a lot of performing experience and have been studying the voice for 6 years, earning my Master in Arts in London. I always encourage and support my students, so they are able to enjoy performing. Students will be at different stages of their careers, whether they sing as a hobbie or professionally. I am very patient, as I understand that the learning ability of every student will be different.

I would love to share my knowledge with students who are interested to learn.

I have gathered skills from professional performers in the industry, varying from Opera to Musical Theatre. As a result, I am clear in my methods and teachings.

My lessons will include vocal and physical warm ups, repertoire work and cool down sessions. I teach my students plenty of material for them to use, and teach themselves independently in the future.
