About Nicola

I am a Glasgow-based screenwriter and filmmaker known for creating and directing emotionally and comedically rich short films that centre authentic, underrepresented voices.

My entrance to screenwriting came through passion and desire to bring my stories to life, what I lack in formal training I make up for in coaching from some of Scotland's best screenwriters and practice with my own work.

My work includes writing and directing the drama Authentic, a character-driven short exploring love, family and LGBTQIA+ themes, and directing shorts such as By Now and the BBC Short Stuff sketch Good Girls: Death Drop Demon.

About the lesson

Looking to turn your ideas into a polished screenplay? I offer one-to-one tutoring designed to guide you through every stage of the writing process. You’ll learn how to use industry-standard software, prepare and structure your script, and build compelling worlds and characters that feel realised and engaging.

We’ll cover A, B, and C storylines, helping you weave strong, dynamic narratives, as well as correct script formatting so your work meets professional standards. Whether you’re a complete beginner or developing a project, sessions are tailored to support your voice and creative goals.

Lessons last an hour and can be held online, in person at my home or in a public space of your choosing.
