About Jonathan
Experienced professional saxophonist, pianist and composer (BA Music Performance and MA Music Composition): I have performed with jazz stars such as Soweto Kinch, Rocky Winslow (California), supported Grammy award winning artist David Murray and also recorded an album of original jazz compositions quartet, Arcades of London (see link to YouTube video below). I have also recorded saxophone and keyboards on many pop/hip-hop tracks, composing hooks and counter melodies during the session.
I am very patient and love to help people advance with their instrument and improve their musical understanding. I offer tuition to all levels, topics that I cover are: grades (Trinity/Associated Board), jazz/pop improvisation, technique, learning songs by ear or with music, developing your style and sound. I teach out of a great space in Balham or I can travel to you (rail/bus cost added to hourly rate).
I have composed the score for two award winning films and I have a deep understanding of structure and harmony to draw on when trying to pass on my knowledge of music composition. I specialize in film music, classical piano music and jazz influenced pieces.

Jonathan is an amazing all round musician and wonderful teacher full of knowledge.
