About Johannes

Professional songwriter and producer with over 10 years of experience in the music industry.
Former songwriting tutor on degree courses at music institutes such as the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) and the Academy of Music & Sound (AMS) amongst others.

My productions, songs and musicianship have been used in film, television and visual media platforms such as YouTube & TikTok. My original arrangements, productions and songs are available on streaming platforms worldwide under the name 'Øld Water'.

Aside from writing and producing, I have spent 10 years as a performing and recording musician, primarily on guitar, and have featured on numerous recordings. I specialise in traditional and world folk musics, alongside rock and pop.

About the lesson

Some of the biggest challenges for songwriters and creative musicians are self-judgement, writer's block, and knowing where to start. Our sessions will focus on creating a self-sustaining flow of creativity, and finding, loving and accepting your unique and personal songwriting/composing style by exploring music and YOURSELF through topics such as:

Each hour-long lesson tailored to your personal needs, will leave you with new sources of inspiration, methodologies for composing and developing your music, coping mechanisms for overcoming the challenges of creating, and discoveries about your unique inner songwriting styles. Suitable for songwriters and musicians of all levels and ages. All you need is an instrument and an open mind!

Perfect! Johannes has been helping me improve my awareness of chords and scales to help me with some piano music I've been writing but was stuck on. Even after one session, he's given me some useful knowledge and ideas about how to progress. Johannes is organised and has a good personality so the tutorials are relaxed and enjoyable. I look forward to more sessions soon.
