About Arlo
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 9 years of experience teaching students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. I believe that learning piano should be enjoyable and meaningful while helping students develop both technical skills and creativity. My teaching methodology emphasises clear communication, patience, and personalised instruction.
I assess each student’s level, goals, and learning style, then design lessons that focus on developing fundamentals such as finger technique, rhythm, hand coordination, and sight-reading. Alongside piano, I also teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to support complete musical understanding.
Lessons are engaging, including songs, creative exercises, and performance practice to motivate students. I specialise in simplifying complex concepts, helping students build confidence, consistency, and disciplined practice habits. My aim is to create a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment where students feel motivated to achieve their full musical potential.

My teaching approach is built on strong communication and understanding each student’s unique learning style. I believe learning piano is not just about playing notes but connecting with the music, expressing emotions, and building confidence. During lessons, I maintain an open line of communication, encouraging students to share their goals, challenges, and ideas. This helps me design lessons that are tailored to their individual needs, whether they are school students, college students, or working professionals.
I also emphasise creativity in every session, encouraging students to explore different styles of music, improvise, and develop their own musical voice. Flexibility is a key part of my teaching—I adapt lessons to suit each student’s pace and interest, whether they are beginners or more advanced learners.
Beyond piano, I integrate relevant subjects such as music theory, sight-reading, rhythm, and ear training. My lessons are a blend of structured learning and creative exploration, ensuring students not only learn to play but also develop a deeper understanding and love for music. This approach ensures every student grows technically, artistically, and personally.
