About Mariya

I am an experienced professional orchestral, chamber and solo musician who is also a passionate teacher. I began my classical training at age of five. Since I finished my Bachelor's degree, I have found a passion in teaching music to students of all ages and levels. I find teaching fun and creative, and I like to find exciting new approaches depending on each individual I work with. I love to inspire and motivate my students, helping them to express and display their creativity through music. I also have experience working in Primary Schools in Bristol as a Qualified Teacher and level 3 SEN children. Currently I am teaching in person and online and have my own piano class of more than 30 students. Every year we have our annual Christmas concert in Bristol Music Club. I am also preparing most of my students for Grade exams. I include my Music Therapy and special education needs knowledge to all of my lessons, as one of my main goals as a teacher is to help my students to grow up and to find their way to express themselves.

About the lesson

As a Harp, Piano and Music Theory teacher I take a classic approach in the music lessons, working through a variety of pieces, but also I make sure that during the classic path of our music learning journey, me and my students enjoy the wonder of music as itself. My lessons are always flexible and full of jokes, cheering in the hard moments and the most important thing to me is not the goal that we pursue, but the process of achieving it. I ensure that correct technique is taught to ensure that my pupils gain strength and an easy ability so that their playing is more effortless. Lesson plans are flexible and unique to each pupil leaving room for personal growth and experimentation.
