About Ole
I am a PhD student in Physics at the University of Ottawa who has successfully tutored more than 50 students in topics ranging from Introductory Calculus to Advanced Quantum Mechanics.
My focus is on teaching students the concepts and skills they need to study and succeed independently so they can solve any problem their professors throw at them during exams.

When teaching math, physics and other topics in natural science, I always ensure that students build a clear, intuitive understanding of the central concepts, which can often be abstract. This is done by encouraging them to make a sketch/drawing/illustration of the physical situation/mathematical question they are trying to describe.
I show them how their visualization relates to the central concepts, and provides clues towards the solution. Finally, I guide them through the mathematical steps needed to arrive at the correct answer and explain any tricks used along the way.
This tried and tested method not only helps students solve individual problems correctly, but cements their understanding of the mathematical and physical concepts involved. This allows them to confidently tackle midterms and exams independently and provides them with skills that will be useful in any course or subject they take on in the future.
