About Christi
With a First Class degree in French and Spanish and an MA in Translation, languages have always been my passion.
I have been a French and Spanish tutor on and off over the last six years and I am now excited to return to tutoring full-time. Beyond working in Paris and studying at the University of Salamanca, I have also worked in MFL publishing and as a translator and translation project manager, so I hope to show the versatility and joys of studying languages.
I am kind, patient and dedicated. I understand that language learning can be a challenge (I learned Spanish completely from scratch myself at University), but I hope to make it a fun and rewarding experience for students, helping them to improve at their own pace in a relaxed and friendly environment.
My aim is to help students find enjoyment and new assurance in their language learning. MFL doesn't have to be daunting - with patience and perseverance, it can be a really rewarding journey!

I tutor for primary, KS3, GCSE, A-Level and complete beginners in French and Spanish.
When teaching primary, KS3, GCSE and A-Level, I always focus on the curriculum, but I also strive to incorporate students' own interests into the lessons to make the classes more relatable and engaging. A typical lesson (usually 1 hour) will aim to cover vocabulary and grammar practise as well as listening, reading, writing and speaking. Lessons can also be tailored to focus on a particular grammar point or skill (e.g. a full class on speaking practise) if more in-depth coverage is required.
For complete beginners, we will start simply (e.g. basic grammar/phonics) and then focus on gaining confidence with tenses and vocabulary for progression. I am guided by students' interests and goals to ensure that the lessons are enjoyable and applicable to real life.
Classes are £40 per hour.
