About Callum
I am a professional guitarist and music educator based in Melbourne, originally from the UK. Over the course of my career, I have performed extensively across the UK and Europe, building a strong foundation as a live musician in a wide range of professional settings.
My performance experience includes appearances at major venues and events, from intimate theaters and clubs through to large-scale stages and festivals, playing to audiences of up to 15,000 people. These experiences have shaped not only my playing, but also my understanding of what it takes to communicate music confidently and effectively in real-world performance situations.
Alongside performing, I have dedicated a large part of my career to teaching and mentoring guitar students of all ages and abilities. I am proud to have achieved a 100% student exam pass rate, reflecting a structured yet adaptable teaching approach that is focused on clarity, consistency, and real progress.
My goal as a teacher is to inspire confidence in every student, regardless of their starting point. I combine professional performance experience with a practical, supportive teaching style that builds strong technical foundations while also helping students stay motivated and engaged. Whether your focus is playing for enjoyment, passing exams, or developing as a professional musician, I aim to provide the guidance and structure needed to help you reach your goals with confidence and clarity.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, an intermediate player looking to break through a plateau, or an advanced guitarist aiming to refine your skills, lessons are tailored entirely to your goals. Together we’ll build a clear roadmap based on what you want to achieve, whether that’s learning your favourite songs, improving technique, developing improvisation skills, understanding music theory, songwriting, performance preparation, or working towards a professional music career.
Lessons are delivered online via Zoom using a professional high-quality setup, including a direct guitar audio feed, studio-quality microphone, high-speed internet connection, and multiple camera angles when needed. This provides clear audio and video, allowing you to see and hear every detail as if we were in the same room. Lessons can also be recorded, giving you the opportunity to revisit key concepts and practice effectively between sessions.
Students receive access to professionally prepared learning materials, including sheet music, tablature, backing tracks, exercises, practice plans, and personalised lesson notes. Every lesson is structured to provide a balance of progress, challenge, and enjoyment, ensuring you always know what to work on and why.
Drawing from years of experience performing across the UK and Europe, appearing on television, recording in professional studios, teaching hundreds of students, and working as a full-time musician, I provide practical, real-world guidance that goes beyond simply learning songs. My goal is to help you become a confident, capable musician while keeping lessons engaging, motivating, and relevant to your personal musical ambitions.
Styles taught include rock, pop, blues, indie, acoustic, fingerstyle, funk, alternative, singer-songwriter, and contemporary commercial music, with lessons adapted to suit your musical tastes and aspirations.
