About Muskan
I’m Muskan, a professionally trained Indian Classical Kathak Dancer with over 15 years of learning and 5+ years of teaching experience. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Kathak, along with a B.El.Ed, which helps me create structured, student-friendly, and expressive classes. My goal is to make every student fall in love with dance while building confidence, discipline, and grace.

Dance is not just movement - it’s expression, rhythm, and storytelling. I combine strong classical and cultural foundations with a creative, modern teaching style.
1. Class Structure
The classes are divided into two parts- practical and theoretical.
Practical knowledge is all about learning, executing and experiencing the foundation of Indian dance forms.
- A short warm-up and tatkar (footwork) practice
- Technical training in spins, hand gestures, expressions, and rhythm
- Learning choreographies — classical, semi-classical, or Bollywood depending on the student’s interest
- Cool down and reflection to help improve posture, grace, and stage presence
In Theoretical classes we learn about -
- The origins and cultural significance of Kathak
- Taal (rhythm), laya (tempo), and how music and movement complement each other
- The nine rasas (emotions) and how to embody them naturally while performing
- Storytelling techniques that connect classical expression to modern contexts
2. My Teaching Style & Features
- With a B.El.ED background, I follow a student-centered and structured approach.
- My classes focus on understanding the emotion and meaning behind each movement while building strong technique and expression.
- I adapt lessons for beginners to advanced learners, blending theory, storytelling, and rhythm to help students connect deeply with Kathak and dance with confidence.
3. Who Can Join
My classes are open to all age groups — from school children discovering the joy of dance, to adults wanting to connect or reconnect with Indian classical arts or learn for fitness and expression.
