About Sam

I’m the Owner and Senior Loctician behind Salty Dreads Australia, with years of hands-on experience specializing exclusively in dreadlocks. I work with clients across installation, maintenance, extensions, repairs and long-term dreadlock care, and I also provide one-on-one education for people who want to build confidence with their own hair or develop professional loctician skills.
I’ve taught everything from basic self-maintenance through to mentoring other women as they establish and grow successful dreadlock businesses of their own. I care about teaching the “why” behind each technique, not just demonstrating steps, so students leave with practical understanding they can apply independently.
I enjoy helping people develop real confidence in their skills, whether they are learning for themselves or building toward professional work.

About the lesson

As the Owner/Founder of Salty Dreads Australia, I teach practical, hands-on dreadlock skills based on years of professional salon experience and real-world client work. My lessons are tailored to exactly what you want to learn, whether that is maintaining your own dreadlocks confidently, improving your technique as a working loctician, learning installation and maintenance methods, troubleshooting difficult cases, or building the skills and systems needed to start your own dreadlock business.
I already provide education and mentoring, from helping clients care for their own hair through to supporting other women as they develop successful dreadlock businesses of their own. I teach clearly, practically and without unnecessary fluff, with a strong focus on technique, problem-solving and understanding why a method works.
Lessons are suitable for complete beginners, existing locticians and salon professionals wanting specialist dreadlock training. Sessions can be tailored to your goals and are typically 60–90 minutes.

My rates reflect the specialist nature of the training and the level of one-on-one attention provided. I run a busy dreadlock studio with appointments often booked well in advance, and I also teach across multiple platforms, so my availability for private mentoring is limited.
