About Chad

I am a marine ecologist and coral conservationist who has founded multiple for-profit and non-profit programs worldwide. For 10 years, I worked in Thailand, running a marine conservation center that did everything from research and monitoring to building some of the largest artificial reefs in the South China Sea. I have operated sea turtle nurseries, giant clam nurseries, built mineral accretion devices, and so much more. This has all led to about two dozen published scientific articles and dozens of student research projects. But, my main passion is teaching others how to do these things and educating them on what can be done by ordinary people to increase our understanding and stewardship of the planet. Here in the US, I teach courses to budding marine conservationists and work to encourage people to develop fulfilling careers in marine science and protection.

About the lesson

I have developed curriculums and standards for certification courses currently taught worldwide. My goal is to empower people with the knowledge and skills to understand and address the environmental issues they see around them in a productive way that does not rely solely on governments.
To do this, I meet people where they are at, whether that is no science background or a Ph.D., and work from there to bring everybody to the point they can collect data, interpret it, and act on it.

One of my main skills is making science accessible to everyone.

I have many courses and lectures ready to go, and I can speak on a wide range of environmental topics from various ecosystems or technologies.

I can also tutor in any general science class or help develop research questions or studies.
