About Mariami

My name is Mariami, and I am a Women FIDE Master (WFM) and professional chess coach from Georgia. I have more than 6 years of experience teaching chess to students from different countries and backgrounds. I work with beginners, intermediate players, advanced students, children, teenagers, and adults who want to improve their chess skills.

As a chess player, I am a Georgian Champion, a prize winner of many national competitions, and I represented Georgia at the 2018 Chess Olympiad. My goal is to help students not only become stronger chess players but also develop better calculation skills, strategic thinking, creativity, and confidence.

My lessons are always personalized based on each student’s level and goals. For beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation and making chess enjoyable. For more experienced players, we work on tactics, strategy, openings, middlegame plans, endgames, and tournament preparation.

I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance and a structured training plan. Whether you are learning chess for the first time, preparing for competitions, or simply want to enjoy the game at a higher level, I would be happy to help you reach your goals.

Outside of chess, I enjoy traveling, learning about different cultures, and connecting with people from around the world.

About the lesson

I have over 6 years of professional experience teaching chess to students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to competitive tournament players.

Throughout my coaching career, I have worked with students from many different countries, helping them build confidence, improve their game, and achieve their personal chess goals.

I am a Women FIDE Master (WFM), a Georgian Champion, a multiple-time prize winner in national competitions, and I represented Georgia at the 2018 Chess Olympiad. My competitive experience allows me to teach not only chess fundamentals but also advanced strategic concepts and practical tournament preparation.

One of the achievements I am most proud of is the success of my students. Over the years, I have coached students who have become North American Champions, Hong Kong Champions, winners of numerous international tournaments, and participants in World Youth and World Cadet Chess Championships. Seeing my students achieve these milestones is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

My teaching approach is highly personalized. Every lesson is adapted to the student’s age, current level, learning style, and objectives. Beginners learn the fundamentals through interactive exercises and guided practice, while intermediate and advanced players focus on tactical calculation, positional understanding, opening preparation, endgame technique, game analysis, and improving decision-making during practical play.

I believe that the best way to learn chess is through a combination of structured lessons, carefully selected puzzles, game analysis, and practical play with detailed feedback. My goal is not only to help students improve their chess strength and rating but also to develop critical thinking, concentration, patience, and confidence.

Whether you are learning chess for fun, preparing for tournaments, or aiming to reach the next level, I will create a personalized training plan to help you achieve your goals and enjoy the learning process.
