About Ross

I am an experienced Chess tutor with over 7 years of teaching students from schools, colleges, and working professionals. During this time, I have successfully guided around 300 students, helping them improve their skills, strategic thinking, and confidence in the game. My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding each student’s unique learning style, building strong fundamentals, and developing problem-solving abilities through practical lessons and game analysis. I emphasize critical thinking, tactics, openings, endgames, and mental discipline, ensuring students can apply their knowledge in real games and competitions.

My goal is to help every student enjoy chess, think creatively, and reach their full potential while building skills that last a lifetime.

I emphasize building strong fundamentals, including openings, tactics, strategies, endgames, and positional understanding. Each lesson combines problem-solving exercises, game analysis, and practical play to strengthen critical thinking and decision-making skills.

I teach with compassion and motivation, creating a supportive environment where students feel confident to explore, make mistakes, and improve. I focus on helping students understand patterns, think ahead, and develop their own style of play. Lessons include puzzles, competitive game preparation, and mental training to enhance focus, patience, and resilience.

My goal is not only to improve skills but also to make learning chess enjoyable and rewarding. By combining structured lessons with creative problem-solving and personalized guidance, I help students progress steadily, achieve their goals, and develop a lifelong love for the game.
