About Advitha
Hi! I’m a 3rd Year Medical Student at the University of Exeter with over three years of tutoring experience and a strong academic record, including a Dean’s Commendation (top 10%) and the highest SSC score in my year. I also achieved 44 points in the IB Diploma (top 1.1% worldwide).
I have delivered over 450 hours of private tutoring across a range of subjects, including secondary school and medical school entrance exams and GCSE subjects—primarily through online one-to-one sessions. This is separate from my informal teaching at medical school. I hold Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), a recognition of my teaching practice following five structured Neuroanatomy sessions I designed and delivered for medical students.
I’ve taught learners from school level to university level, helping students with entrance exams, GCSEs/IGCSEs, and advanced medical topics. I tutor:
- Secondary Entrance Exam Prep
- GCSE/IGCSE Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
-Medical School Preparation (UCAT, Interviews, Personal Statements)
- General Study Skills and Exam Support
I tailor every session to each student’s needs, focusing on building confidence, effective technique, and measurable progress. I truly believe every student can thrive with the right guidance.

I focus on giving students clear, practical strategies that make the UCAT and interview process far more manageable. For the UCAT, we break each section down into specific techniques, tips, and time-saving methods. The first four sessions typically cover the core strategy framework for:
- Verbal Reasoning: scanning techniques, keyword spotting, managing inference questions, and avoiding common traps
- Decision Making: evaluating arguments, using diagrams effectively, probability shortcuts, and identifying flawed logic
- Quantitative Reasoning: rapid calculation methods, estimation strategies, and identifying the quickest route to an answer
- Situational Judgement: GMC-aligned reasoning, prioritisation frameworks, and understanding what “good practice” looks like
After these foundation sessions, we work through mixed timed sets to build speed, accuracy, and stamina. I help students create a structured practice plan, review errors in detail, and refine the techniques they find most effective.
For interviews, I cover both MMI and panel formats, including:
- Key question types (motivation, insight into medicine, ethics, communication, teamwork, resilience, role-play, data interpretation)
- How to structure answers clearly under pressure
- Mock interview stations with targeted feedback
- Body language, professionalism, and communication skills
- Practice for challenging or unexpected questions
Personal statement support includes:
- Reviewing structure, flow, and clarity
- Strengthening reflection and insight
- Ensuring alignment with medical school values (leadership, teamwork, empathy, resilience, curiosity)
- Helping students produce polished, authentic drafts that stand out
Lesson Format:
- Initial diagnostic task + discussion of current strengths and weaknesses
- 60-minute sessions (flexible depending on need)
- Combination of teaching, guided practice, timed drills, and feedback
- Optional mock MMI circuits closer to interview dates
- Regular review checkpoints to track improvement and update the strategy plan
Whether you need help boosting UCAT scores, preparing confidently for interviews, or refining your personal statement, I offer structured, supportive sessions designed to maximise performance at every stage of the application.

Advitha has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter. Her calm and encouraging approach has really helped build confidence and make learning enjoyable. It’s clear that she puts thought into each session, and my daughter always comes away feeling more assured and motivated. We’re really grateful for the support she’s provided.
Advitha has been helping me doing UCAT revisions for a couple of weeks and she is really good at explaining all the answers and questions, hence I was able to improve a lot by doing lessons with her. Moreover she has a very friendly approach to the lessons which helps me feel more comfortable during the lessons. Finally she has been very helpful by being flexible with the lessons with me. I highly recommend Advitha as an UCAT tutor
She is really good. Very professional and my son loves her way of teaching. Highly recommend her
Advitha supported my daughter through her GCSE’s and we were very grateful! Communication was great arranging sessions and she was very reliable. My daughter enjoyed the sessions and felt comfortable to raise if she didn’t understand something. She found the sessions very helpful and teachers commented on progress too! Thank you x
