About Timur

As I mentioned, I am a third grade physics teacher student. I am a founding member of the Enthusiastic Human Science Workshops Association, which was founded three years ago. For nearly three years, I have taught various workshops in the field of science and philosophy, including high school and university students. I voluntarily organized numerous camps to prepare for the Physics Olympics with students who have financial problems and are talented in physics under the umbrella of the association, where I am mostly active in the summer (I did not have the opportunity this summer due to the pandemic process). In addition to this, I take various roles in the organization of such events as a volunteer around the ideal of bringing together science and philosophy with young people such as science symposium and cultural festival. Teaching physics has always been exciting for me. Since my high school years, I cannot describe the pleasure I get when I grasp behind the scenes of any natural phenomenon, and I can say that the only thing that motivates me is that it is still alive. This was one of the biggest factors that drove me to become a physics teacher. I can say that I am a physics lover. I support a student-centered education, not a teacher-centered one like in schools. Otherwise, you can neither convey the excitement nor grasp the subject. I stand up for physics education, where conceptually-based critical thinking is at the center. In this way, the student will get rid of all kinds of memorization and the success rate will increase surprisingly. (It is evident from experience that students who never like physics are able to solve all kinds of questions when they can understand and imagine physical phenomena in real terms. Since this situation is outside of their normal, their success in physics and their point of view on physics are changing so that they will not be the same again.) So I can say that I am a physical pain reliever. :)

As in every field, we can observe that there are many misconceptions especially in the field of physics. I think it should be paid attention to have students brainstorm the main concepts of the subject before starting the subject. The student, who sets the concept correctly, can easily reach a level where he can dance with any formula. For example, when we throw a ball into the air, it goes up to the top and then falls back to the ground. So When we ask "What is the force acting on the object that reaches the highest point?" students usually give the answer zero to the question. Is it really zero? If not, what is it? The student who does not do these inquiries cannot go beyond memorizing the 1/2 * a * t ^ 2 formula. The student who is faced with a different question just stays. Here, in the way I teach, students are constantly exposed to the situation of being stuck while making inquiries and calculations during the lesson so that their problem solving skills and the instinct of looking from different perspectives can develop.
