About Ben
Ben Marshall is Principal Oboe No.2 (doubling Cor Anglais) with RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Before moving to Ireland in 2024, he performed regularly with BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Ballet Sinfonia & English National Ballet. Highlights of Ben’s freelance career included performing at the BBC Proms and touring Europe & Japan. Ben studied Oboe with Tess Miller at Trinity Laban, followed by Alison Teale at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Alongside music, Ben is a keen runner and gardener, and is always trying to improve his Japanese speaking skills. Ben has 15 years of teaching all ages and abilities and looks forward to bringing his approach to young musicians in Ireland.
